NBA: Thunder signed rookie Hamidou Diallo to a 3 year/$4M deal

According to Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, Oklahoma City Thunder will be signing a second-round pick, 19-year-old shooting guard, Hamidou Diallo to a 3 year, $4M contract. Diallo is an athletically gifted player after spending 1 season with Kentucky averaging 10 PPG, 3.6 RPG, and 1.2 APG, he also shot for 43% from the field and 34% from the 3 point line.

Diallo, who will wear jersey number 6, gives the Thunder 15 players under contract for the upcoming season: guards Russell WestbrookAndre RobersonDennis SchroderRaymond FeltonAlex AbrinesTerrance Ferguson and Diallo; forwards Paul GeorgeJerami GrantPatrick PattersonTimothe Luwawu-CabarrotAbdel Nader and Kyle Singler; and centers Steven Adams and Nerlens Noel.

A native of Queens, N.Y., Diallo represented the U.S. in the 2017 FIBA U19 World Cup where in seven games he averaged 10.9 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 2.3 assists in 18.2 minutes per contest. He also won gold at the 2016 FIBA Americas U18 Championship.

The Thunder will be using $838k from their $5.3M MLE as part of the deal, meaning the Thunder currently have $4.5M worth of the MLE as of July 25, 2018.
