The Wizards were coming off a trade in which they dealt Otto Porter Jr. and Markieff Morris, and the early signs were not promising. The Bucks scored 85 points in the first half, which was too much for Washington.
The Nets won a close game in Brooklyn, defeating the Denver Nuggets 135-130. D’Angelo Russell had 27 points and 11 assists, whereas Nikola Jokic recorded a triple-double for the Nuggets.
Julius Randle scored 31 points off the bench as the Pelicans won 125-120 against the struggling Bulls. New Orleans was without Anthony Davis and Nikola Mirotics, but they managed to get the win anyway.
Luka Doncic put in a triple-double as the Mavericks won 99-93 against the Hornets. Dallas forward Harrison Barnes was incredibly traded during the game to the Sacramento Kings. Said Kings were beaten soundly by the Rockets, as James Harden had another great game with 36 points.
The Golden State Warriors routed the Spurs, inflicting a 141-102 defeat upon them. A 49-point third quarter outburst proved to be enough for the Warriors to claim the win. Meanwhile, the Utah Jazz put in a balanced performance to beat the Phoenix Suns 116-88.
