Karl-Anthony Towns hit a buzzer-beater as the Minnesota Timberwolves won 99-97 against the Memphis Grizzlies in overtime. Towns grabbed a tough rebound in the dying seconds and drained a fadeaway jumper as the clock expired. It was a low-scoring game, and the two teams could score only 10 points combined in the extra 5 minutes. Mike Conley Jr. top-scored with 26 points for Memphis.
The Celtics cantered to an easy 126-94 over the Hornets, despite playing without Kyrie Irving. Meanwhile, the Bulls won in Miami, courtesy of 26 points from Bobby Portis off the bench. Dennis Smith Jr. recorded a triple-double as the Mavericks won 114-90 against the Knicks. Dirk Nowitzki turned back the clock, scoring 14 points which are his season-high.
Nikola Jokic put up his sixth triple-double of January as the Nuggets won 105-99 against the Pelicans. Anthony Davis did not feature, as the trade rumours grow surrounding the forward. The Wizards won 107-89 against the Pacers, as Bradley Beal and Jeff Green starred for them.
The Sacramento Kings claimed an easy win, defeating the Hawks 135-113. Portland were another team to score heavily on the day. Damian Lillard and C. J. McCollum combined for 66 points as the Blazers won 132-105 against the Jazz.
