Russell Westbrook carried the Oklahoma City Thunder to a 122-116 win over the New Orleans Pelicans. He recorded a triple-double with 23 points, 16 assists, and 17 rebounds. Paul George marked his starting spot in the All-Star Game with 23 points, 7 assists, and 11 points on the night.
The Pelicans were without the injured Anthony Davis, and the Thunder picked up their 4th straight win in his absence. Jrue Holiday contributed 22pointss and 13 assists in a losing cause.
Steph Curry scored 38 as the Warriors defeated the Washington Wizards 126-118. DeMarcus Cousins started as well and had an impressive game with 17 points. Trevor Ariza top-scored for the Wizards with 27 points.
The Portland Trail Blazers claimed an easy win in Phoenix, winning 120-16 against the Suns. Damian Lillard, C. J. McCollum, and Jake Layman all crossed 20 points for Portland. Devin Booker scored 27 for Phoenix, but he was the lone shining light for the home team.
The injury-ridden Lakers suffered yet another defeat, falling 120-105 to the Minnesota Timberwolves at the Staples Center. Lonzo Ball and LeBron James were both absent, though Rajon Rondo made a return for Luke Walton’s side. Karl-Anthony Towns had 27 points and 12 rebounds for the Timberwolves, who are just half a game behind the Lakers now.
