Today was a scoring explosion for the NBA. The Warriors, Hawks, and 76ers all scored more than 140 points to canter to easy victories.
The Golden State Warriors scored an NBA-record 51 points in the first quarter on their way to a 142-111 win over the Denver Nuggets. They snatched the first spot in the West from the Nuggets and did it in style. Klay Thompson, Stephen Curry, and Kevin Durant combined for 89 points, playing just 85 minutes in all.
The Philadelphia 76ers claimed a 149-107 win over the Timberwolves, as Jimmy Butler got one over his former employers. They scored 83 points in the first half, led by Joel Embiid, who scored 31 points in the game.
Atlanta saw another high-scoring game, as the Hawks defeated the Thunder 142-126. A fourth-quarter explosion from Atlanta was enough to claim the dub. Trae Young had 24 points and 11 assists to lead them.
The Indiana Pacers also scored plenty, beating the Phoenix Suns 131-97. Tyreke Evans top-scored for them with 20 points off the bench. Giannis Antetokounmp recorded a triple-double with 12 points, 10 assists, and 10 rebounds as the Bucks routed the Heat, 124-86.
Meanwhile, the Los Angeles Lakers won 107-100 against the Chicago Bulls at home, led by point guard Lonzo Ball.
