It’s still early, but the Philadelphia 76ers’ trades look like they are paying off. Jimmy Butler and Tobias Harris have been added since the season began, which has made the 76ers’ starting five as good as any side’s in the league. Joel Embiid starred in the 143-120 win over the Lakers, scoring 37 points. Tobias Harris had 22 on his debut, as Kyle Kuzma top-scored for the Lakers with 39.
The Blazers were horrendous in the fourth quarter as they slipped to a 102-101 loss against the Mavericks. Damian Lillard and Co. could manage just 9 points in the last period, as Dallas claimed the win. Luka Doncic starred again, scoring 28 points.
Marvin Bagley III led the Kings to a 117-104 win over the Suns, as the rookie scored 32 points. It was a career-high for Bagley, as he outshone the first pick DeAndre Ayton on Phoenix.
The Magic won their third straight game, defeating the Hawks 124-108. Nikola Vucevic scored 19 points as all the Orlando starters were in double figures. Meanwhile, the Warriors claimed a 120-118 win over the Heat courtesy of 39 points from Kevin Durant. Josh Richardson dropped 37 for Miami, but Dwayne Wade’s farewell in Oakland was blighted by the loss.
