Nayan Jyoti Bora from Assam is all set to showcase his skills at the Pro Panja Ranking Tournament scheduled to take place at The Lakshmibai National Institute of Physical Education in July later this year.
While he wasn’t a part of the inaugural ranking tournament which took place in New Delhi, he is looking forward to taking part in the upcoming event. Hailing from Guwahati, Assam, he is also the husband of Pro Panja’s above 65kg champion Chetna Sharma.
SportsIndiaShow.com had the opportunity to chat with Nayan Jyoti Bora ahead of the tournament to talk about his preparation for the ranking tournament.
How excited are you for the upcoming tournament?
“I am extremely excited for this upcoming tournament, Because I couldn’t take part in PPL tournament held in Delhi, I missed an opportunity there so I am eagerly waiting to take part in this next Tournament.”
How is your training going on?
“Regarding my training, all I can say is that now I’m training with weights.”
Do you have any specific diet plan to get into the weight you want to be?
“I don’t follow any specific diet plan but I prefer to go low on carbs.”
What kind of training are you doing?
“I am doing a few compound exercises along with some arm-wrestling oriented training.”
How has been your experience with PPL?
“I was part of only one PPL event last year which took place in Goa in March of 2021. It was a really awesome experience. I had never witnessed such an event held on a rooftop of a big ship. It was a great experience.”
