Deepika Kumari, the former no. 1 ranked archer in the world, secured two gold medals and one silver on the 12th day at the 37th National Games, while Olympian Aishwary Pratap Singh finished in the top spot of the 50m rifle 3-positions event on Monday.
Representing her native state of Jharkhand at the Games, Deepika clinched her first gold in the women’s individual category, while her second gold arrived in the mixed team categor along with Mrinal Chauhan. Her silver medal came in the women’s team event, losing to Haryana in the gold medal clash.
With three more days to go in the event, the medal table is currently led by Maharashtra with 68 gold (199 in total), followed by the Services in second place with 54 gold (109 in total), and Haryana in third place with 50 gold (142 in total).
