National Esports Championships 2022 starts today, will select India’s team for Asian Games

The National Esports Championships NESC 2022 aka NESC ’22 has commenced today and will take place until 24th April, to pick out the team to represent India at the 2022 Asian Games later this year.

The NESC 22 is being conducted under the ‘AESF Road to Asian Games’(https://goaonlinecasino.com/) program and over 200 top esports players all across the country will participate in the mega event. Five of the most popular esports titles- DOTA 2, Hearthstone, FIFA22, Street Fighter V, and League of Legends will be featured at the event.

Thirteen teams will participate in DOTA 2 while League of Legends will see four teams including seasoned players such as Jeet Rajesh Kundra, Moin Ejaz and Samarth Trivedi. On the other hand, Hearthstone, FIFA22 and Street Fighter V will be singleplayer, with 13, 60 and 16 players respectively, with participation from Tirth Mehta in Hearthstone, Siddh Chandarana and Lokmanyu iN FIFA22 and Aditya Verma in Street Fighter V.

This year’s Asian Games will see esports as a medal sport for the first time. Due to the presence of the COVID-19 pandemic, The Indian team selected from NESC 22 will head for the Asian Games taking place from 10th to 25th September in Hangzhou, China.

I know all of us have been practicing and preparing at our best, and I am sure that whoever goes on to represent India at the Asian Games will aim for a podium finish this time” said 2018 Asian Games bronze medallist Tirth Mehta, when esports was played as a demonstration event.

“Its great opportunity provided by ESFI to all athletes to give their best and earn a chance to represent India at Asian Games 2022. Being a professional FIFA player myself, it’s my dream like many others to win medal for the country and I’m looking forward to NESC ’22,” added FIFA player Lokmanyu.
