Team India have started their journey at home with a 227-run loss. While a few failed to do well in the first Test, a few changes are expected to be seen in the second Test as well.  However, the speedster T Natarajan, who has been in a good form, has been relieved by the Tamil Nadu Cricket Association (TNCA) for the upcoming Vijay Hazare Trophy as the Team India will play five T20Is and three ODIs against England from March 12, in Ahmedabad and Pune respectively.

“That is what we have heard. We have not got a request in writing but we understand that the team management wants him to get ready by practising at the National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bangalore. The secretary is looking into it. The Tamil Nadu Cricket Association (TNCA) will take the right decision,” Kasi Viswanathan of TNCA said to Cricbuzz.

Even, TNCA secretary S Ramasamy has also confirmed the news. “The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and the team management want him fresh. It is in the national interest and so we are ready to oblige,” the TNCA official told. “We had named a replacement should he be not available and that issue has been sorted out. We have released Natarajan.”

However, the Indian team management’s request for T Natarajan came from the thought that the pace bowler should not be in the quarantine twice – one for the Vijay Hazare Trophy and another for Team India prior to entering into the bubble. Meanwhile, the TNCA has asked him to proceed to the NCA after the Indian team management has requested this.

Notably, T Natarajan has played one Test, one ODI and three Twenty20 International matches so far for India in the recently-concluded Australia series where the Team India registered a 2-1 series win and retained the famous Border-Gavaskar series as well.

However, a loss in the first Test against England made the chance of India’s qualification a bit tough for the final of the World’s Test Championship (WTC) which will be played at Lord’s. Notably, New Zealand have already qualified for the final.
