Amid the Mumbai power outage, netizens freak out over Jofra Archer’s ‘Lights Out’ tweet from 2013

Jofra Archer is one of those cricketers, who pretty well know how to be in the limelight – be it with the fiery spells or his iconic old tweets that have the similarity with present situations which also included his “prediction” of the Super Over during the eve of ICC World Cup Finals against New Zealand, India’s first COVID-19 lockdown or any other incidents.

 

And once again, he came in the news for his tweets. The English speedster is currently playing for Rajasthan Royals in the 2020 edition of Indian Premier League (IPL) and troubling the batsmen.

Meanwhile, the people in Mumbai has been facing a huge power cut as a major power outage was reported in most of the areas of the city. While the residents have taken to Twitter to report about this situation across the city, many have taken the opportunity to make memes and share as well.

Amid this time, a 7-year-old tweet by none other than Jofra Archer became viral in no time which read: “Lights out.”

However, fans didn’t miss the opportunity to respond and make it more viral as well.

Several tripping of lines and transformer (Kalwa-Padghe and Khargar ICTs) was affected 360 MW supply in the city and suburbs areas of Mumbai. While Nitin Raut – the Power minister informed that the electricity will be restored in one hour, an official later revealed that it might take more time.

However, with sudden power fault, the city has come to a standstill. Meanwhile, Mumbai University has cancelled their today’s exam and they announced to take Monday’s exam on Sunday, October 18. Even, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) issued helpline numbers as well.

Not only this, as the local trains under Western Railway (between Church Gate to Vasai railway station) has affected as well due to huge grid failure. The Central Railway (CR) that runs between CSMT and Kalyan was also brought into a standstill.

As far as Jofra Archer is concerned, his side will next play against Delhi Capitals on October 14 at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium in Dubai. With three wins from seven games, they are currently at the sixth place in the points table.
