Mumbai Indians(MI) have presented talented and promising players from time to time and Kumar Kartikeya is one of them. He had to deal with the long stints away from family, especially in the age of COVID-19 and bio-bubbles. Many cricketers have faced the problem and the MI all rounder recently shared an emotional story of his homecoming. He also shared a picture, posing with his mother as they got reunited after nine long years.

Kartikeya had moved out of home at the age of 15 and decided to become financially independent. He had to work in a factory until his dream was achieved. He hadn’t eaten lunch for a whole year and he had to save INR 10 for a pack of biscuits. From such hard work, Kartikeya made his Ranji Trophy debut for Madhya Pradesh in 2018 and since then he never looked back.

The picture has garnered more than 17,000 likes and 900 retweets. Kartikeya’s IPL franchise Mumbai Indians also shared the same picture, captioning the post as: “This is what we call as a perfect home coming.”

Kartikeya Singh played for Mumbai Indians in IPL 2022. In four matches, he scored 3 runs and took 5 wickets. The spinner was also a part of Madhya Pradesh’s Ranji Trophy-winning team this season. In the Ranji Trophy this season, he ended up taking 32 wickets in 11 innings, finishing as the second-highest wicket-taker in the edition.

Kartikeya was recently part of the Mumbai Indians uncapped squad that toured England for three weeks in July under the watchful eyes of head coach Mahela Jayawardene. Tilak Verma, Ramandeep Singh, and Hrithik Shokeen were all part of the squad, and Kartikeya is a special talent in the making.
