Mumbai City FC’s dominance in the semi-final

The match began with FC Goa dominating ball possession and attempting to create scoring opportunities. However, they struggled to penetrate Mumbai City FC’s solid defence. Despite FC Goa’s 16 crosses, they managed only one shot on target in the first half. Mumbai City FC, on the other hand, hit the post twice, keeping the pressure on FC Goa.

The second half saw Mumbai City FC displaying more attacking intent. Mehtab Singh’s attempts from outside the box and his header from a corner narrowly missed the goal. FC Goa’s first shot on target came in the 54th minute, but it was easily saved by Phurba.

The deadlock was finally broken in the 69th minute when Jorge Pereyra Diaz scored from a rebound after Dheeraj saved Rahul Bheke’s header. This goal shifted the momentum in favour of Mumbai City FC.

In the 83rd minute, Lallianzuala Chhangte doubled Mumbai City FC’s lead with a brilliant goal. Vikram Pratap Singh played a through ball to Chhangte, who used his pace and skill to beat Udanta and an onrushing Dheeraj, slotting the ball into an empty net.

Despite some good chances in the dying minutes of the game, FC Goa failed to convert, and the match ended 2-0 in favour of Mumbai City FC. With this victory, Mumbai City FC qualified for the ISL Final with an aggregate score of 5-2.

This win sets up a thrilling final against Mohun Bagan SG. The Mumbai City FC coach, who lost the league shield in the final game of the regular season to Mohun Bagan Super Giants, now has a chance at revenge.
