MS Dhoni suffered a blow on his right arm on the eve of first ODI against Australia.

Like all batsmen, he was taking throwdowns after a long batting session. This is when one of the deliveries from Raghavendra bounced a bit more than expected and hit the former captain on his right forearm.

MSD was seen in pain after taking that blow, and did not bat post that as a precautionary measure.

India will hope that there is nothing serious with this injury.

Whether his selection in the First ODI will be affected due to this injury is not yet certain. The team management is nursing the injury and the final verdict over his selection will be taken in the evening today.

In case of Dhoni’s unavailability, the most probable replacement with the gloves will be Rishabh Pant. However, India also has KL Rahul and Ambati Rayudu who can keep wickets.

Australia is touring India and after having beaten the hosts 2-0 in the two-match T20 series, will enter the ODI series high on confidence.

Meanwhile, the hosts will be willing to hit right back and gain confidence by winning their last ODI series before the World Cup starts.
