José Mourinho, who has remained out of job since departing Old Trafford in 2018, has admitted that a return to Italy “could be a possibility”.
Mourinho was fired from Manchester United back in December 2018, after two and a half season with the Red Devils.
The 56-year old has had work experience all over Europe, with the likes of Porto, Chelsea, Real Madrid and Serie A giants Inter Milan.
With big clubs already filling up vacant spots, such as Sarri joining Juventus and Lampard returning to Stamford Bridge, the “Chosen One” may have limited options available to choose from.
However, Mourinho now hints that a return to Italy is possible.
Speaking to Sky Sports Italia, Mourinho said “In the future? Always soccer, and always a high level. Italy? Could be a possibility.”
“I have a lot of qualities and one of them is to respect other clubs and their management.”
“I have never spoken like ‘this club wanted me, they contacted me.’
“When I left Manchester United in December, I immediately took the decision I want to work from summer. I hope to be back to work in July in a project I really like.” The Portuguese told RMC back in May.
“Winning a fifth championship in a different country or the Champions League with a third club are things I’d like to do,” he added.
