Indian Women’s Team one-day captain Mithali Raj has responded and shut down a troll after the recently concluded series against the Proteas women at home, where India clean swept the South Africans by 3-0. Mithali Raj who became the second female cricketer to win 100 One-day internationals as Captain has also completed 20 years in International cricket after she made her debut way back in 1999.

The Twitter user in question alleged that Mithali Raj doesn’t know ‘Tamil’ but prefers Hindi, English and Telugu over her mother tongue.

Mithali Raj hit back at the Twitter user with a classy tweet in which she said she is fluent in her mother tongue ‘Tamil’ and that constant criticism on social media doesn’t discourage her but only serves as motivation.

“Tamil is my mother tongue. I speak Tamil well and I am proud to be living as a Tamil. but above it all, I am very proud Indian ! Also my dear sugu ,you constant criticism on each and every post of mine ,you day to day advice on how and what I should do is exactly what keeps me going.”

Mithali Raj also replied with famous Taylor Swift number “You Need to Calm Down” while asking the Twitter troll to calm down.

Mithali Raj, who retired from T20I cricket earlier this year, has completed more than 20 years in the highest form of cricket. Notably, Mithali had played her 1st-ever ODI for India in June, 1999 against Ireland.
