Former England captain Michael Vaughan has made a bold prediction regarding James Anderson’s potential destination in the upcoming IPL 2025 auction. Anderson, who recently retired from international cricket, has registered for the auction with a base price of INR 1.25 crore.

Vaughan’s Prediction

Vaughan believes that Chennai Super Kings (CSK) could be the ideal team for Anderson. He highlighted CSK’s history of success with overseas bowlers who can swing the ball in the powerplay. Anderson’s ability to move the ball early in the innings fits perfectly with CSK’s bowling philosophy.

“You mention James Anderson, I would not be surprised if Jimmy Anderson ends up at Chennai Super Kings. You heard it here first. They are a team that likes someone who can swing it in the first few overs. They had a swinger, be it Shardul Thakur. It would not surprise me if Jimmy Anderson ends up at Chennai,” said Vaughan.

James Anderson’s Potential Impact

Despite Anderson’s limited T20 experience, he has shown his worth when called upon. In 19 T20I matches for England, he has taken 18 wickets at an average of 30.66. His domestic T20 career also boasts 41 wickets from 44 matches.
