Arsenal midfielder Mesut Ozil’s agent has said that the German playmaker, whose contract with the Gunners runs until the summer of 2021, has no desire of moving out of north London despite being heavily linked with possible moves that will take him out of the Emirates Stadium, and would like to stay at the club beyond the contract as well.

Ozil has been occasionally left out of the Gunners’ games, including the big ones, most notably the 4-2 mauling of neighbours Tottenham last year and several other games which saw the north London club emerge victorious, thus proving that Arsenal are better off without their wonder talisman. As a result, the German had been heavily linked with a move outside of north London prior to the January transfer window, with suitors including Premier League rivals Manchester United. However, Ozil’s agent Dr. Erkut Sogut says he is going nowhere.

As per reports from Goal, he said: “I would prefer not to speak publicly about Mesut’s situation but, given the recent speculation linking him with a move away from Arsenal, I do feel it is important to provide some clarity, so we can end this and focus on football.

“Mesut signed a new contract last January, because he saw his future at Arsenal, and nothing has changed in his mind.

“He wants to stay for the duration of that contract and maybe even longer.”

Dr. Sogut also added that Ozil was a 100% committed to the club and that he had a great relationship with his team-mates, the staff and fans. Ozil is currently on the sidelines with a knee injury and sat out the defeat at Liverpool and the victory over Fulham.
