The star player of the Gunners, Mesut Ozil is ready to stay at Arsenal till the end of his career. The Gunners brought in the star player in the summer transfer window of 2013-14 season with a transfer fee worth £46 million. Since then, Mesut Ozil has been a star performer for the Gunners over the last few seasons.
In an interview after the launch of his wellness brand ‘Unity’ Mesut Ozil was asked about his future at the Emirates. Ozil told,
“Why not? I am still young, I am 30,” he said. “In football, everything is possible but I am really happy to play for a big club like Arsenal. I just enjoy it and I can imagine finishing my career at Arsenal.”
He was also asked about the age when he will retire. Ozil calmly answered,
“Maybe aged 38! No, really, I always think if I feel well, I could go on until I am 35 or 36, I don’t know. If everything is good, we’ll see.”
Mesut Ozil recently retired from the International football after the strong criticisms came in his way. However, he is good form in this season under the management of Unai Emery. He has already scored three goals in his nine appearances so far in this season in the Premier League. The player has been trying hard to adapt the style of the play of Unai Emery. Mesut Ozil has signed a new contract with the Gunners in January to commit his future at the Emirates till 2021. The star player of Arsenal can extend his contract further if the things go accordingly in the next few seasons.
