“One M.1 M Overwhelmed. Humbled. Grateful. Thank you for all the support,” posted Mayank Agarwal with the caption. He played a crucial role for Kings XI Punjab in Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020 and finished as the second-highest scorer with a huge 424 runs from 11 matches for Punjab which also included a century and two half-centuries as well.

The 29-year-old swashbuckling opener has also played 11 Tests and three One-day Internationals for India so far ever since making his debut in the Boxing Day Test at the Melbourne Cricket Ground against Australia in 2018. Till date, he has amassed 974 Test runs which came at 57.29 with three centuries and two double centuries as well.

However, after the conclusion of a successful Indian Premier League 2020, Team India has boarded the flight for Sydney on Wednesday for the upcoming two-month long tour where they will play both Tests and the limited-overs series, starting on November 27 with the first One Day International in Sydney. Notably, India will play three ODIs, three T20Is and four Tests from November 2020 to January 2021 during the tour

As the players were ready to fly, the BCCI tweeted photographs of the Indian team before their departure where the players can be seen in customised PPE kits for travel amid the crunch time of COVID-19 pandemic.

“#TeamIndia is BACK! Let’s embrace the new normal,” the official Twitter handle of the BCCI posted the photo with this caption. However, most of the players of the Indian team were a part of the cash-rich T20 league and after the end of their respective team’s campaign in the tournament, they moved to the bio-bubble made for the national team in the UAE.

Notably, Team India will undergo a 14-day quarantine in Sydney during which they are allowed to train for the upcoming series.
