WWE Hall of Famer Mark Henry is a pro-wrestling veteran. He has been a part of WWE for the majority of his career and recently switched to All Elite Wrestling(AEW) and serves as the commentator and analyst. Henry is an inspiration for many heavyweights in the pro-wrestling business and he continues to groom the up-and-coming talents. It has been noted that AEW star Powerhouse Hobbs, who is a member of Team Taz is one of the talents who has learned a lot from Mark Henry.
Mark Henry hailed as ‘wrestling dad’ of Powerhouse Hobbs
Powerhouse Hobbs recently joined in for an interview with Tuesday Wrestling Tuesday, when he revealed that he has saved Henry’s name in his phone as ‘Dad’. Here is what he said:
“From the very first time I debuted on AEW until now, I’ve completely done a 180. Everything has changed. Cody Rhodes is a big influence to me. Mark Henry, that’s my wrestling dad. I have him in my phone as ‘Dad.’ FTR, Arn Anderson, Dustin Rhodes, obviously Taz, Billy Gunn. There’s so many people that influence me, daily. There’s so many people I can call and get advice from. It’s not just one.”
Powerhouse Hobbs went on to detail his relationship with ‘The World’s Strongest Man’, noting the two have a familial dynamic that has significantly helped Hobbs improve. He said:
“He let me know, like, ‘Hey, you need to change up the way you look. Stop eating carbs after 5 o’clock,’” Hobbs said. “Since then, my body has like, switched.”
Henry not only serves as the commentator and analyst, he also serves as a coach in the promotion.
