Indian table tennis star Manika Batra has made a significant leap in the latest International Table Tennis Federation (ITTF) rankings, moving up four spots to 26th in the world. This achievement marks a career-high for Batra and is a reflection of her hard work and dedication to the sport.

Manika Batra’s Recent Performances

Batra’s rise in the rankings comes on the heels of her impressive performance at the WTT Champions event in Montpellier. She defeated USA’s Lily Zhang in the first round and then caused a major upset by beating World No. 14 Bernadette Szocs of Romania in the pre-quarterfinals. This victory made her the first Indian woman to reach the last-eight stage at this level.

Manika Batra has been a consistent performer for India, with notable achievements including a bronze medal at the 2018 Asian Games and a gold medal at the 2018 Commonwealth Games. Her recent performance in Montpellier has further solidified her position as one of India’s top table tennis players.
