Manchester United created an unwanted stat after their draw vs Huddersfield Town today. The draw now makes them impossible to reach the top 4.
Manchester United’s bid to finish in the top 4 came to a close as their side failed to get past a relegated Huddersfield side, drawing the game 1-1.
Heading into the game 5 points behind Spurs and 3 behind Chelsea who still had a game in hand, United needed nothing but a win to stay alive in the race for the final two Champions League berths.
Scott McTominay opened the scoring for the visitors in the 8th minute after his left footed shot found the right bottom corner. But the side failed to capitalise on their quick lead and surrendered it in the 60th minute to the hosts.
The draw now leaves them 4 points behind 4th placed Spurs with just a single game remaining in the season. Thus the English giants will have to settle for Thursday night football next season.
Having failed to beat Huddersfield at John Smith’s stadium today, Manchester United became victims to a rather bizarre stat.
The side now are the only Premier League team to not beat Huddersfield Town having played more than once at the John Smith’s stadium. Last season saw them lose to the terriers 2-1.
2- Manchester United are the only team to have played more than once in the Premier League at the John Smith's Stadium and failed to win at the ground. Bitter. #HUDMUN pic.twitter.com/8mFSYbsxim

After having become the permanent manager of United, Ole Gunner Solskjaer hasn’t particularly enjoyed a good time. He will look to make major revamp with his current squad in the summer.
