Manchester United are confident of leapfrogging both Liverpool and Arsenal in securing the services of Lille star Nicolas Pepe who has 20 goals and 11 assists this term.
Lille’s attacker Nicolas Pepe is currently under many European club’s radar after his performances this season caught the eye of many across Europe. The forward has an impressive 20 goals and 11 assists to his name this campaign.
While Bayern Munich are touted to be the front runners to sign Pepe, Daily Mirror has quoted that the Red Devils have a developed a sudden interest in the forward and wish to sign him to bolster their attacking options.
Manchester United have had a lackluster season with their club losing frequently. Finally the club had to settle for a 6th place finish and now will play Europa League next season. Despite only playing in the Europa League, the club remains confident that they can convince Pepe to sign for them.
Pepe himself teased everyone when asked about his departure. Pepe did not give a concrete answer and said that he will decide his future once the season is done.
“We don’t talk about it, the season is not over yet. Once it is finished we will be able to talk about it, but now no,” said Pepe.
While his agent did not hesitate to tell that the talks were on for his move, he refused to share the details of the clubs that were interested in him.
“We are in discussions with clubs. No decision has been taken. Today, there are no favourites, be it Bayern Munich or another club. Nicolas will not go just anywhere. We have not decided on which league,” said Samir Khiat.
