In the women’s skeet qualification event at the 2024 Paris Olympics, Indian shooters Maheshwari Chauhan and Raiza Dhillon secured the 14th and 23rd positions, respectively.
Maheshwari Chauhan’s performance in the qualifiers
Maheshwari Chauhan aggregated 118 points across five series, with the first three series taking place on Saturday. Her scores were as follows: 23, 24, 24, 25, 22. Raiza Dhillon totaled 113 points, with a sequence of scores: 21, 22, 23, 23, 24. On the first day of qualifications, Maheshwari was closely following the leading pack at eighth position with an aggregate of 71.
Unfortunately, only the top six shooters in the qualifications advance to the final. Italy’s 2016 Rio Olympic gold medallist Diana Bacosi also missed the cut, finishing just below Maheshwari in 15th place with a total of 117.
Maheshwari Chauhan finished 14th out of 29 shooters in Women's Skeet qualifications with a score of 118/125.
Compatriot Raiza Dhillon finished 24th with a score of 111/125.

Despite their efforts, Maheshwari and Raiza faced tough competition, and their journey in the women’s skeet event concluded during the qualifications stage. The Paris Olympics showcased their dedication and skill, even though they narrowly missed the chance to compete in the final round.
