Liverpool trashed Newcastle United with a margin of 4-0 at the Anfield on Wednesday to stay at the top of the table in the English Premier League. Jurgen Klopp only made three changes in the matchday squad after the game against Wolves on Friday. Trent Alexander Arnold was back in the starting lineup of the Reds after missing out some matches due to injury.
Xherdan Shaqiri was also back in the matchday squad. Dejan Lovren’s powerful shot gave Liverpool the lead in the first half of the match. Mohamed Salah was fouled in the penalty box by one defender of Newcastle United. The penalty was awarded to the Reds and Mohamed Salah made no mistake to make it 2-0. Xherdan Shaqiri scored the third goal for Liverpool.
Fabinho was brought in place of Wijnaldum in the second half of the match. Daniel Sturridge also came in place of Roberto Firmino. Andrew Robertson was also subbed off at the 82nd minute to keep him fit for the Arsenal. Fabinho scored the last goal of the match for Liverpool from the pass provided by Mohamed Salah. Liverpool are currently enjoying 6 points lead over Tottenham Hotspur. The Reds will face Arsenal next in the Premier League on Saturday.
