Liverpool ease past Porto to storm into the semis


Liverpool stormed into the semis of the Champions League for consecutive two seasons with a victory against Porto in the quarter final. Liverpool were ahead with a margin of 2-0 after the first leg at the Anfield. The second leg ended with a scoreline of 4-1 in favour of the Reds. (Aggregate scoreline 6-1 in favour of Liverpool)

Sadio Mane opened the scoresheet for the Reds at the 26th minute of the first half of the match. The ball was provided by Mohamed Salah for the Goal. Sadio Mane was also booked in the first half. Mohamed Salah doubled the margin for the Reds at the 65th minute of the match. Porto scored their first goal of the tie at the 68th minute of the match. Eder Militao netted one for the home side and the ball was provided by Alex Telles.

Roberto Firmino was not in the starting lineup of the Reds and Divock Origi started in place of the star centre forward. However, Roberto Firmino came in the second half of the match and scored the third goal of the Reds. Jordan Henderson provided the ball towards him. Virgil Van Dijk sealed the win for Liverpool with a goal at the 84th minute of the match. Liverpool will now face Barcelona in the semifinal of the Champions League this season.
