An honorary Lieutenant Colonel in the Indian Terrestrial Army, Mahendra Singh Dhoni will soon be joining his regiment in Kashmir as a part of Victor Force and will soon be seen patrolling the valleys of Kashmir in the army uniform.
The former Indian captain who has already taken retirement from test cricket , has taken break from the limited overs format in order to serve his regiment and the Indian army. The Indian team is all set to play 3 T20I’s, 3 One-day Internationals and 2 tests in the Caribbean.
The 38 year-old Indian veteran who has won all the ICC trophies as captain and who is also been awarded the Rajiv Gandhi Khel Ratna and India’s third highest civilian award Padma Bhusan, MS Dhoni was accorded the Honorary post of Lieutenant Colonel in 2011 after India’s successful campaign in the 2011 world cup at home.
The spokesperson of the Indian Army, Colonel Aman Anand said ” MS Dhoni, an honorary lieutenant colonel in the Territorial Army, will serve in the Kashmir Valley from 31st July-15th August. He will be staying with the troops and performing patrolling and other duties.”
Lieutenant Colonel (Honorary) MS Dhoni is proceeding to 106 Territorial Army Battalion (Para) for being with the Battalion from 31 Jul-15 Aug 2019.
