Manchester United have been in complete shambles ever since the current season has been underway, and manager Jose Mourinho looks absolutely clueless as to how can he turn it around, with certainty of even a top 4 finish looking diminishing and Lee Dixon knows what might get the United boss the boot.
After United’s worst ever start to a campaign began with the beginning of this season, despite finishing in second place in the Premier League last season, things have been looking bleak for Portuguese manager Jose Mourinho and failing to provide promising results has already got him in loggerheads with fans and players alike as the frustration at Old Trafford continues to build.
Back in the first week of October this year when rumors of Mourinho getting sacked were blowing in the wind, mediocre yet fortunate results have helped him survive, but now speculations around the same topic have begun to arise and, according to Lee Dixon, if it becomes mathematically impossible for United to make a top 4 finish, Mourinho gets the sack.
After winning just six of 14 PL games this year, Mourinho admits that things should not be the way they are right now, and insists that he doesn’t need a miracle to turn things around.
“We don’t need to waste points where we don’t need to waste,” he said. “Before Palace, I said my target would be end of December in top four. Now the target has changed. Now we have to try to be very close to these positions.”
Manchester United face an in-form Arsenal tonight at Old Trafford.
