The Los Angeles Lakers made their preseason debut against the Denver Nuggets today, and although they lost the game, they did show glimpses of what they can become this season. The highlight of the game came from Lebron James and Rajon Rondo, who teed up JaVale McGee for a dunk.
James had the ball in transition and he made a great pass to pick out Rondo near the baseline. He, in turn, set up McGee for what was an easy finish. It was great ball movement from the Lakers, something which will have delighted coach Luke Walton.
LeBron and Rondo have praised each other during their short time together as Lakers, and expect that chemistry to be on display on the court. Both these individuals have tremendous basketball IQ, court awareness and passing ability which will be seen at the Staples Center this season.

Against the Nuggets, James played just 15 minutes but looked up to speed. Rondo played a bit more and recorded 11 assists, which was high for the game. The highest scorer on the day for the Lakers was McGee(!), who notched up 17 points.
The Lakers’ next game is against the Nuggets itself, in two days’ time.
