Leander Paes in the record books as India rout Pakistan in Davis Cup tie


The star Tennis player of India, Leander Paes came in the record books after the doubles match win the Davis Cup Tie against Pakistan. Leander Paes came back in the Davis Cup team of team India after one and half year. It was an unexpected return for the star Tennis player in the Davis Cup circuit.

India thrashed Pakistan in this Davis Cup Tie by a margin of 4-0. It was an easy encounter for India to deal with. Now they will face Croatia to qualify for the World Group in Davis Cup. At the beginning, no Indian players were ready to go to Pakistan to play this tie. The non playing captain of Indian Davis Cup team, Mahesh Bhupati was sacked for that reason. However, the tie was shifted to a neutral place and Leander Paes agreed to play in this tie.

Leander Paes is currently at the fourth position jointly with Santana in all time win list in Davis Cup. He is holding the record of 92-35 in Davis Cup while Santana is having the record of 92-38. Leander Paes is still going strong in this age and he should be an iconic figure to the young aspiring tennis players of team India.
