Kush Maini joins DAMS Lucas Oil for the 2025 Formula 2 season

Indian racing driver Kush Maini has been confirmed to join the DAMS Lucas Oil team for the 2025 Formula 2 season. This announcement was made on December 10, 2024, and Maini will partner with Jak Crawford for the upcoming season. Maini, a member of the Alpine Academy, brings two seasons of Formula 2 experience to the team, during which he claimed one victory and six additional podiums. His efforts played a key role in securing the Teams’ Championship in the recently concluded 2024 campaign.

Kush Maini’s career so far

Maini’s impressive junior career includes wins in British Formula 3 and a Vice-Champion title in 2020. He has also competed in the F3 Asian Championship, FIA Formula 3, Formula Renault Eurocup, and the World Endurance Championship. The 24-year-old driver expressed his excitement about joining DAMS Lucas Oil, highlighting the team’s strong pedigree and history in Formula 2.

Both Maini and Crawford will participate in post-season testing in Abu Dhabi this week, with their competitive season set to kick off in Melbourne on March 14-16, 2025. Maini stated, “I’m thrilled to be joining a team with such a strong pedigree and history in Formula 2 like DAMS Lucas Oil. I feel like my story in this championship isn’t completed yet, and I know that this is the right crew to help me further my career.”

DAMS Team Owner Charles Pic also expressed his confidence in Maini, saying, “We’re pleased to confirm Kush for next year as he’s a talented driver who has shown excellent raw speed throughout his time in the series. We believe with Jak and Kush that we have a very strong partnership, which can help us to consistently fight at the front of the grid in 2025.”
