She was invited by the club in order to train for the upcoming World U-20 Athletics Championships in Nairobi in Kenya.

Her parents, Jayasankar Menon and Prasanna Jayasanker are former hoopsters. They are concern about their daughter as she would have to travel a long way to a different country amid the COVID-19 pandemic.

But, amid the difficult situation, they are trying the best way possible to make sure that their daughter does not face any trouble during the journey and reaches the destination of Kingston by early December.

Jayasankar told that it is not possible to get the Jamaican visa before January next year as the Jamaican embassy in New Delhi is closed due to the pandemic.

To avoid losing the crucial time of training, they will be applying for the U.K visa for travelling. She would be able to train for seven to eight months at the club in Kingston. The eighteen-year-old will also take part in the meets conducted by the official body.

On qualification for the Championships, Jayasankar said, “We believe that she can achieve the World Qualification mark of 49m in Kingston itself. Sitting idle here will only hamper her preparations.”
