The team had already contested their customary football match. During which  strength and conditioning coach, Shanker Basu had disclosed his fear behind cricketers playing the sport of football as part of warm-up. He said:

“I hate football for cricketers. It’s highly injurious. I can only see risk, no reward. But even in the Indian team, we cut football totally but once in a while, I allowed the children to play. Every year, when they play this game, my heart is in my mouth,”

Gradual increase for RCB when it comes to training

Royal Challengers Bangalore are slowly cranking up the intensity when it comes to intensity. Skipper Virat Kohli had revealed that the priority at the moment is balancing training to avoid any possible injuries. He stated:

“We don’t want to push anyone into a niggle or an injury because we understand it’s been a while away from the game. So I think we moved ahead in a balanced manner.

“We don’t want to be a maniac like doing 6 sessions in six days. We gave ample off time to the boys which we will continue to do along the course of the these next few training sessions also,” Kohli said.

“I am very very happy with how the team is shaping up, Few shoulders were sore initially because we threw after months, suddenly you realise a few muscles were asleep. But I think the guys are now getting back into the intensity level we want,”
