The title race is heating up and with it has come some controversial talking points as usual. Talking about the usual, Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp has found another issue to express distaste at and quite vocally.
Mo Salah has been diving quite a bit in the past few weeks and has won 2 penalties that way, one infamously against Crystal Palace. However this time the Reds weren’t given a penalty when it was supposedly a clear one.
Klopp said “I would say it is a 100 per cent (goalscoring) chance – a situation where there is a goalscoring chance that tells the ref he has to give a red card. Not only is Sadio through, but I am pretty sure Mo was on the other side which gives you two against one against Schmeichel.
“It is the second time in a game where a striker of ours is brought down at the halfway line, and we treat it like it was I don’t know where! If that is not a real goalscoring situation, I don’t know what is.
“I don’t think you need a VAR for that penalty decision because the best position on the pitch was the ref again, but he doesn’t want to give it,” he said.
“I think we agree it was a penalty, but really very often I stand here when we got a penalty and have to defend it.
“What do you need? There was no blood again this time, but it was still a clear penalty. This time we didn’t get it so I hope everybody is happy that we didn’t get that penalty – so now we can carry on.”
