India’s wicketkeeper-batsman KL Rahul has achieved a rare feat as he placed in the top three of the ICC T20I rankings for batsmen whereas the captain Virat Kohli has also moved up by a place after the conclusion of the three-match Twenty20 International series against Australia which the Indian team won by 2-1.

Rahul, who scored a half-century in the first T20I at the Manuka Oval in Canberra, has removed Australia limited-overs captain Aaron Finch from the number three spot. However, he failed to score big in the next two games against Australia as he could manage only 30 and 0.

On the other hand, Virat Kohli, who smashed a swashbuckling 85 in the final T20I at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) which Australia won convincingly by 12 runs and restrict the series whitewash, has moved up one spot and placed at the number eight spot as well. However, England’s Dawid Malan remains at the number one spot after scoring 173 runs against South Africa in the three-match T20I series which England won 3-0.

Meanwhile, among the bowlers, Afghanistan’s spin maestro Rashid Khan placed at the top of the rankings and he is followed by none other than Mujeeb ur Rahman, his teammate. On the other hand, England leg-spinner Adil Rashid has moved one spot and placed at the third spot as well.

As far as the all-rounders’ list is concerned, Mohammad Nabi remains at the top whereas Shakib-al-Hasan and Glenn Maxwell placed after him respectively.

Currently, two of the best teams in world cricket – India and Australia have been playing against each other in a full-fledged series. While India won the T20I series by 2-1, they faced the vice-versa result in the ODI series. Meanwhile, with the defeat in the third T20I, mighty Australia ended Team India’s 10-match winning streak in the T20I format where India could only manage 174 runs for7 in their allotted 20 overs while chasing a target of 187 runs in 20 overs.
