KL Rahul is confident and grateful despite a number of injuries making things difficult for him. Following three months of staying away from the Indian National Team due to a layoff caused by sports hernia, he is back and is ready to lead his squad to victory.

RAHUL FELT MOTIVATED BY THE CONSTANT COMMUNICATION MAINTAINED BY THE TEAM MANAGEMENT
Interestingly, this will be Rahul’s second series as the captain of the Indian National Team, and this time around he and his team will face Zimbabwe, the team he performed brilliantly against to initially secure his place in the National Team. Zimbabwe has gained form in the last few months, with Sikandar Raza and the likes proving their capabilities against Bangladesh.
While his injury led him to the sidelines, competition was at all-time high, with numerous players trying their best to get into and secure their spots in the National Team. However, the team management was in regular contact with Rahul, which provided him with additional confidence. His mindset was clear and the communication helped him to focus on his game and his skills instead of pondering upon the security of his spot.
“Players thrive under such situations, when you create a conformable environment and give players confidence. That is when he can go from being a good player to being a greater player who can play a lot more match-winning innings,” he said, noting that the team had never forgotten his performances over the last two or three years.
HE HOPES TO ADD TO THE PLEASANT ZIMBABWEAN MEMORIES
Rahul remembers the pleasant memories from his One Day International and T20I debuts in Harare, and wants to add to the memories by the end of this tour. “Coming back here after so many years and getting the opportunity to lead your country, obviously when you look back, it’s very pleasing. As a person you can see how much you’ve grown and how far you’ve come as a player. It gives me great joy. Hopefully, can add to those good memories and play some good cricket over the next week,” he says.
