KKR vs SRH: Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) bowlers outsmart the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) batting unit in Qualifier 1 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024. Opting to bat first, SRH never got into the game as KKR picked wickets at regular intervals.
KKR vs SRH: Mitchell Starc demolishes the SRH top order
The innings started with Mithcell Starc breathing fire against the dangerous duo of Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma. Starc dismissed the Australian South Paw on the second delivery of the game with an absolute peach. Soon after, Vaibhav Aroora got rid of Abhishek in the second over.
Rahul Tripathi steadied the ship with Nitish Kumar, but Starc soon dismissed Nitish and Shahbaz on consecutive deliveries in his 3rd over in powerplay. Heinrich Klassen and Tripathi stitched a beautiful 62-run partnership in no time with aggressive batting. However, Klassen caught the bait of Chakravarthy in the 11th over.
Abdul Samad joined Tripathi in the middle and hit a huge six against Narine on his very first ball. Both the batsmen played some delightful shots. Tripathi brought up his fifty in the process. Later Andre Russel’s terrific fielding effort and the miscommunication between the batters sent Tripathi back to the dressing room.
Yes…No…and eventually run-out at the strikers end!

Sanvir Singh came as Impact Sub but was dismissed on the first ball off Narine. Samad also joins him in the next over. SRH found themselves in a tough position at 125/8. Skipper Pat Cummins played a useful hand of 30 off 24 balls before getting dismissed as the final wicket. SRH posted a decent total of 159, but the pitch No.6 used for the game saw a couple of 200 totals chased down with ease this year.
