The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 Final produced a dominant display of cricketing skills by the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) against the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) to clinch a record 3rd title at MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai. SRH were humiliated in all aspects as they were humbled by the dominance of KKR.

KKR reigns after 10 years

Opting to bat first, SRH failed miserably once again with the bat with the dashing openers Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma failing once again in the important game. The next best batsman Heinrich Klassen also fell cheaply adding to the miseries. With KKR’s brilliant discipline with the bowl, they affected the lowest total in an IPL final of 113.

Mitchell Starc once again came clutch in this important fixture, with others taking their opportunities against the low-on-confidence SRH batting unit. All of the KKR bowlers picked a wicket, reflecting the team’s combined effort.

With a little target to chase, Knight Riders batsmen completed the proceedings wasting no time in just 10.3 overs with Venkatesh Iyer seeing his side home with an unbeaten fifty. Knight Riders reigns champion once again at the same venue where they first once the coveted title back in 2012 under the leadership of Gautam Gambhir.
