After reaching the semi finals of the Hong Kong open India’s ace shuttler and world no.13 Kidambi Srikanth is all set to mark his presence in the Korean Open , ace female shuttlers Saina Nehwal and PV Sindhu have pulled out of the tournament owing to regroup nd prepare themselves for the Olympics next year in Tokyo. Saina Nehwal would be playing her 4th Summer Olympics after making debut in 2008 at Beijing.

Kidambi Srikanth didn’t have a very good run this year as the shuttler could only make the finals of the Indian open before reaching the semi-finals of the Hong Kong open and eventually lost to the winner Cheuk Yiu Lee.

Saina Nehwal and PV Sindhu India’s only medal winners in badminton at Olympics have decided not to participate in the Korean Masters as both of them want to regroup before the start of the next season.

Among other Indians in the fray, world number 16 Sameer Verma will take on top seed Chinese Shi Yu Qi in the opening round, while his elder brother Sourabh Verma will face a qualifier.

Subhankar Dey who is world no.44 will need to fight it out against Olympic champion and second seed Chen Long of China.
