Indian Moto GP Race Cancelled!!! Fairstreet and UP Government Dismiss the Rumors

Earlier this week it was reported that Indian Moto GP Race Cancelled (As per Autosport reports). However, now the organizers post an update to put stop to the rumors of Kazakhstan replacing India.

In a recent media outing, Fairstreet Sports CEO Pushkar Nath Srivastava has told the press that, “The race is very much on. These are just rumors floating around. All of the contractual obligations will be met in June.”
Additionally, it is being reported that ‘Fairstreet Sports and the UP government have informed Dorna that the payment would be made after election results are out on June 4, 2024. Invest UP, the major sponsor, falls under the Government Audit, and has to abide by the Model Code of Conduct, so Dorna has been notified of this predicament.’

Autosport has reported that Kazakhstan is set to replace India on the 2024 calendar. The Indian Grand Prix, which was scheduled for September 2024, has been cancelled, and the postponed Kazakhstan Grand Prix will take its place.

Indian MotoGP Race Cancelled: NOT

Last year, The MotoGP championship had made a much-anticipated visit to the Buddh International Circuit on the outskirts of Delhi last year as part of its expansion in South Asia. Despite several hiccups, the race ran smoothly.

The Kazakhstan Grand Prix was earlier postponed because of a flood. And it was widely reported that it could replace the Indian race on 20-22 September. The event had been postponed from its original June date due to flooding in the region. The Sokol International Racetrack outside Almaty was to host the Grand Prix, and would have marked the entry of Central Asia into the premier category of the motorcycle world championship for the first time.
