Kapil Dev names his all-time ‘Kapil XI’ team- check out the lineup!

India have produced several quality players and Kapil Dev and MS Dhoni are among them. They are the only two Indian captains who have led India to World Cup titles so far. While India won the 1983 ODI World Cup under the leadership of Kapil Dev after a convincing win over two-time champions West Indies, MS Dhoni successfully led India to the T20I World Cup in 2007 and under his leadership, India won the ICC Cricket World Cup in 2011 as well.

MS Dhoni is considered as one of the best captains as well as best cricketing minds too. In a recent interview with Bollywood actress Neha Dhupia on her ‘No Filter Neha’ Saavn original podcast, Kapil Dev revealed that MS Dhoni is one of the players whose place no one can take while he was naming his ‘Kapil XI team’.

While he was asked to name his team of XI players, Kapil Dev shared: “There’s a test match is different, there’s a one day cricket is different. ODI…if I have to pick, I would say definitely Sachin Tendulkar, Virender Sehwag, Virat Kohli, will be there, Rahul Dravid will be there, Yuvraj will be there.”

“Wicket Keeper is only Dhoni. Nobody can touch his spot,” the former India captain further added. “You have Zaheer Khan, you have Sreenath. Recently Bhumrah, I can say. He’s done extremely well. Anil Kumble, all-time great spinner, and Harbhajan. These are the cricketers who come to my mind very much there.”

Meanwhile, MS Dhoni, as well as Chennai Super Kings, had a rather dismal show in the recently-concluded Indian Premier League in Dubai. They became the first team to be out of the league which was also the first time in the history of the league as well. But during CSK’s last IPL game this season, Dhoni announced that he would return strongly along with his team in the next season of Indian Premier League which is barely five months away.
