The India A team’s head coach, Hrishikesh Kanitkar, was revealed by the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Friday, May 16. The A team will play three games in England, including one against the India Seniors, under Kanitkar’s leadership during the shadow tour, which is led by Abhimanyu Easwaran.

The former India and Maharashtra batsman will be accompanied by Troy Cooley, the bowling coach, and Subhodeep Ghosh, the fielding coach from Assam. On May 25 and 26, the 18-member team is anticipated to depart in groups for England. On May 30, Canterbury will host the first four-day game, which is referred to as a first-class match, against the England Lions.

The India A team will play the India Senior team in a closed-door intra-squad competition in Beckenham from June 13 to 16 following the second four-day encounter in Northampton on June 6. Sai Sudharsan and Shubman Gill will join the A team prior to the second match against the England Lions, according to the BCCI.

In the meantime, the final week of May will see the selection of the India Senior team. The squad was originally scheduled to be chosen on May 23, but with the postponement and subsequent start of the IPL, this is probably going to happen later.

Nearly two weeks before the first Test, which begins in Headingley on June 20, the England team will depart on June 6. It appears that Gautam Gambhir, who was previously expected to depart early for England, will accompany the team on their regular itinerary.

The next four Test matches for India will be held in Birmingham (beginning on July 2), Lord’s (beginning on July 10), Manchester (beginning on July 23), and the Oval (beginning on July 31). The team will play five Test matches overall.
