Indian discus thrower Kamalpreet Kaur, who finished sixth in the postponed Tokyo Olympics 2020 – the very first Olympic games in her career – has claimed her recent dope test failure to be part of a conspiracy against her.

KAMALPREET KAUR IS THE FIRST INDIAN FEMALE TO CROSS THE 65M MARK

Kamalpreet Kaur is the first Indian female discus thrower to breach the 65m mark, with her 65.06m throw both setting a national record and confirming her qualification at the Olympics. She has since then went on to break her own record with a 66.59m throw.

EARLIER THIS WEEK, AIU PROVISIONALLY BANNED HER BECAUSE OF A FAILED DRUG TEST

Earlier this week, the Athletics Integrity Unit provisionally banned Kamalpreet Kaur as she breached the international doping rules by using a prohibited substance, in her case: Stanozolol.

“The AIU has provisionally suspended discus thrower Kamalpreet Kaur of India for the Presence/Use of a Prohibited Substance (Stanozolol), a breach of the @WorldAthletics Anti-Doping Rules,” the Unit tweeted.

Stanozolol infamously made its way to spotlight in the 1988 Olympics, where it was found in the system of men’s 100m race Gold medalist Ben Johnson, leading to much controversy and media attention.

KAMALPREET CLAIMS IT TO BE PART OF A CONSPIRACY

However, the athlete has responded by claiming the test failure to be a conspiracy. She has also claimed that truth would soon be revealed. “The truth will come out. I know it’s a conspiracy. I come from a humble background and struggled a lot to reach where I am today,” She mentioned to The Times of India.

Kamalpreet Kaur was apparently already suspicious of a protein supplement. The supplement was provided to her and other members of the national camp by the Athletics Federation of India (AFI), and was purchased from a private vendor. She visited the offices of the National Anti Doping Agency (NADA) and National Dope Testing Laboratory (NDTL) to convey her doubts about the specific protein supplement.
