Maurizio Sarri’s Juventus have made their initial bid for Matthijis de Ligt, reportedly offering £67 million for the Ajax centre back.

The 19-year old has been the target this summer for the heavyweights across Europe, such as Barcelona and Manchester United.
However, reports from SkySports Italia suggest Turin is believed to be the preferred destination for De Ligt as the Serie A champions have become the front runners in securing the Dutch international.
Although, Sarri’s initial bid fell pretty behind of Ajax’s €75 million asking price.
Paris Saint Germain did match up with the Dutch champions’ figures, but are unlikely to land de Ligt, as the player his himself interested on a career with Cristiano Ronaldo.
“We came to the conclusion that I always wanted to be Cristiano Ronaldo when we played soccer in the garden.”
“Especially during the period when he played at Manchester United. Even my first football shirt was his.” the Dutchman spoke to Dutch outlet Voetbal International last week.
Ajax Under 18 coach Brian Roy also believes a move from Amsterdam to Turin is the best option for the teenager at the moment.
The Old Lady are also ready to bring back club legend Gianluigi Buffon, the 41-year old goalkeeper who is currently a free agent following his expiration of contract at the Parc des Princes.
