Indian pro boxer and Olympics bronze medallist Vijender Singh (13-1, 9 KOs) returned to winning ways as he marked his 13th professional career win against Ghanaian boxer Eliasu Sulley at the ‘The Jungle Rumble’ boxing event which took place this Wednesday, 17th August at the Balbir Singh Juneja Stadium in Raipur, Chhattisgarh.
Coming from his maiden career loss to Artysh Lopsan back in March last year, Vijender marked a knockout win over Sulley, landing the winning strike in round two of the six round contest.
The 36-year-old Haryanvi pugilist entered the bout in a reserved approach and after a calm and composed first round, went into the offensive, landing a barrage of hooks and uppercuts, sending Sulley into the ropes.

“Yeah, my team is with me. Good to be back. It’s a win after 2 years,” said Vijender following his victory, “We were busy with so many things, Covid-19 and all that. But it’s good to be back, good to start the season with a victory. People think it’s easy but it’s not. You can ask my coaches.”
“I think we will fight in December or January again. We will be back to the gym next week,” he added. [H/T India Today]
