Real Madrid’s newly appointed manager Julen Lopetegui is under huge pressure as his team has not been able to win a single match in the last four matches in all competitions. After the shocking defeat against Alaves in La Liga, Real Madrid are now at the fourth position in the League Table after eight matches.
The Spanish journalist Eduardo Inda has heavily criticised the strategy of Julen Lopetegui after a moderately slow start of the season by Real Madrid. According to him,
“The Madrid players are p****d off by the tactics.”
“There are some players who are playing for tactics.
“They consider that there has to be less tiki-taka and more rapid transitions, as has been historically Real Madrid, and not imitate Barca.”
Real Madrid are playing more possessional football in this season under the management of Julen Lopetegui. They are trying to build up the attacks slowly and waiting to break the deadlock with playing several number of passes between themselves. But, some players are not liking this strategy of the new Spanish manager. According to them, counter attacking football with pace will be the way to go in the next matches to break the deadlock early in the match.
According to several sources, Julen Lopetegui’s future at Real Madrid is under scrutiny. The Spanish manager will be given the time to settle the side till the El Classico which will take place within two weeks. Real Madrid will play against Levante in La Liga and Viktoria Plzen in the Champions League. The name of the former Chelsea manager Antonio Conte is also emerging as the replacement of Julen Lopetegui at Real Madrid. In this circumstances a win in the upcoming El Clasico at Camp Nou is badly needed for Julen Lopetegui & Co.
