The last year finalists Odisha Juggernauts and Telugu Yoddhas defeated the underperforming Rajasthan Warriors and Mumbai Khiladis last night respectively at Jawaharlal Nehru Indoor Stadium Cuttack in Ultimate Kho Kho Season 2. Both the games were turned out to be rather one sided affairs.
Ultimate Kho Kho Season 2: Telugu Yoddhas humbled Mumbai Khiladis
Telugu Yoddhas continued their excellent run in the competition by winning another game against the Khiladis with a dominant performance(40-22). This was the largest victory margin this season.
Yoddhas started with dominance in the first two turns with excellent attacking and defensive display. Six different players contributed in first innings attacking. While Pratik Waikar, Avdhut Patil and Aditya Ganpule stayed on the mat for 5 minutes and 17 seconds, garnering 5 dream run points. It was too late for Mumbai Khiladis as they never game back in to the game.
With this win, Yoddhas moved to second in the points table, while Khiladis faded their knockout chances.
Ultimate Kho Kho Season 2: Rajasthan Warriors poor form continues
Rajasthan Warriors are yet to win a game this season and they continue to surrender to the opposition. The defending champions Odisha Juggernauts got the much needed win by defeating a weak opposition.
Odisha defenders got a dream start in Turn 1 as they produced greatest defensive performance in Ultimate Kho Kho history. The first batch of Gowtham MK, Vishal and Dilip Khandavi stayed on the mat for a record six minutes and 22 seconds, scoring 7 dream run points. For the first time in UKK a defending team had taken the lead in a turn as Odisha defenders took a lead of 7-6 in turn 2.
Rajasthan made a comeback in turn 3, sending Juggernauts first batch early. Despite of going with a lead in turn 4, Juggernauts attackers flipped it in their favour in no time.
Juggernauts remain at 4th spot while Warriors are out of the tournament.
