Jordan Pickford at the heart of alleged street fight incident

England national team and Everton goalkeeper Jordan Pickford finds himself in an extremely difficult situation, as police investigate an alleged incident involving the England international after a video published on social media explicitly revealed him causing an uproar in the streets in Sunderland.

As per a report received by the Northumbria police, a large group of individuals were seen engaging in fracas on Tunstall Road, Sunderland late on Sunday, and the situation was duly escalated to the police as early as 12:19 am the following Monday.

A video published on social media revealed that Pickford was part of the group causing an uproar, the same aforementioned incident which was reported to the police. The latter are investigating the incident which is said to be a quarrel between a group of pubgoers and the Everton goalkeeper.

A spokesperson said:

“Inquiries are ongoing to determine the circumstances surrounding the incident and locate those involved.

“Nobody is believed to have been seriously injured and no arrests have been made.”

Everton, who signed Pickford for £25 million in June 2017, later acknowledged the situation and confirmed that investigations from their side have commenced, while the FA were also made aware of the incident.

A club statement from the Toffees said:

“The club has been made aware of an alleged incident involving one of our players and we are looking into the matter.”
