Jerome Boateng is determined to fight for his place in the side despite him currently not being preferred by Niko Kovac.
Bayern Munich’s centre back Jerome Boateng is determined to fight for his place despite him having an uncertain future with the club for the upcoming season.
The 30-year-old has struggled to cement his place in the side and is currently out of favour for Niko Kovac who clearly prefers Sule and Hummels ahead of him. Despite given enough chances to prove himself, Boateng couldn’t prove himself and now has to look for a move elsewhere.
Also with the likes of Benjamin Pavard and Lucas Hernandez arriving this summer, there is no chance that Jerome Boateng gets game time.
But the German defender is determined to stay and fight for his place even while Uli Hoeness has already asked him to leave.
“I surely won’t run away from here. Situations can change quickly. Of course, I can imagine I will continue at Bayern,” said Boateng.
It is to be noted that Boateng was on the verge of securing a move to PSG last summer but the two clubs couldn’t agree upon a fee. Now having had a poor season, it looks to be seen whether Thomas Tuchel will still be interested in him. Also Manchester United can be seen as an escape route but Boateng isn’t keen on returning to England.
With already having singed new recruits and with the club now also liked to de Ligt, one would hope that Boateng’s future is currently not at Bayern and it would be wise of him to look elsewhere.
